Kota Tinggi: A new agenda for higher education will be drawn up in January, which will address the lack of interest in pursuing further studies as well as reducing costs, said Datuk Seri Mohamad Khalid Nordin.
The agenda of the recently appointed minister of higher education will address all issues related to the ministry and outline the directions for raising the country’s education level to a higher level.
“I will be attending a briefing at the Ministry and the Department of Higher Education on the challenges facing the higher education landscape.
“There have been many changes, especially since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, so there are many things that require our attention and deep understanding before we can come up with any solutions to address some of the issues,” he said. An interview with the local community after participating in the Dewan Muafakat Taman Pasak Indah yesterday.
The new direction Kota Tinggi MP said will address efforts to produce high-quality human capital and local talent, which is in line with the government’s move to make the country a hub for higher education.
“There are many things we want to share and I would like to detail our agenda for the country one day[in January].
“It does not mean that we have prepared all the things that we need to do once we come into office. We have plans but they still need time to prepare before sharing with the country, he added.
Under the former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, This is Mohammad Khaled’s second term as Minister of Higher Education since taking office in 2008.
