Fair to help students travel to higher education » Borneo Bulletin Online

The Findlay Education Service Agency is hosting its first in-person post-pandemic event at the Center Point Hotel in Gadong to help students consider their higher education options.

Representatives from institutions around the world will be on hand to chat with students and provide information to guide their future study plans. Featuring different entry requirements and destinations in the UK, Australia, Malaysia, Canada, the United States and Europe, the International Study Fair offers a range of options for higher education.

Expanding on these options will be pathway providers offering alternative higher education entrances to foundation level studies or parallel first-year degrees for students who miss entry deadlines or requirements.

These campus programs allow students to transition into university life without extending their studies.

Findlay Advisors will represent their partner universities and colleges who are unable to attend the fair.

They also offer employment workshops and Morrisby Psychometric Career Profile Assessments for students who are unsure of which career and education paths to pursue.

The public and private sector will support the fair. Officials from the National Accreditation Council of Brunei Darussalam and the Scholarship Management Department of the Ministry of Education will be available for related inquiries.

At the fair, you can get information on student bank loans and IELTS English language tests from local banks.

Managing Director Sunita Martin said, “Now that travel restrictions have been eased, it’s great to have university representatives back in Brunei.

We’ve had to move these communications online during the pandemic, and while the events are well-attended, there’s certainly a buzz around in-person study fair events that can’t be replicated at online events.

“In recent weeks we have seen representatives visit from universities such as Taylor’s, Birmingham, St Andrews, Dundee and Queen’s Belfast, all of which have shown strong interest from schools and prospective students.

She added: “We pride ourselves on our exceptional service which is comprehensive, personal and long-lasting.

“We assess the student’s educational background, needs and aspirations and match them with appropriate study destinations.

“We then help them with applications and visas, pre-departure information sessions and stay connected throughout their studies.

“When you graduate, you’ll have free access to our recruitment tools like CV writing, presentation and interview skills.”
