Appointed Dr. Chrissy Holliday VP for Enrollment Management and Student Success

Dr. Chrissy Holliday has been named vice president for enrollment management and student success at Cal Poly Humboldt. She will begin her tenure on January 1, 2023.

She directs the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Success (Admissions, Financial Aid and Office of the Registrar), which includes the Office of the Dean of Students, EOP/TRiO programs, Cultural Centers for Academic Excellence, Student Health and Wellness Services, and Housing and Residence Life.

“I am very impressed with Chrissy’s experience and knowledge, and I think she will make a great impact at Humboldt. She has a deep commitment to supporting students from diverse backgrounds and creating a great campus experience,” said Cal Poly Humboldt President Tom Jackson Jr. “We are thrilled to welcome Chrissy to Cal Poly Humboldt and the entire Lumberjack community. .”

Dr. Holliday brings nearly two decades of experience in higher education. Currently Senior System Liaison for Rural Education and Colorado State University Pueblo, Dr. Holliday connects Southern Colorado with Colorado State University System resources to ensure access to higher education and support regional workforce development needs.

As someone who has focused on enrollment and student success throughout my senior career, I look forward to being a part of Humboldt Polytechnic’s transformation,” said Dr. Holliday. I am excited to help lead an institution focused on access for underrepresented students, and my family looks forward to calling Humboldt home.

She served as Colorado State University Pueblo’s Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs and Director of Admissions, successfully developing strategic planning and building strong partnerships within the university and local community. She was director of enrollment management at Salquehatchee University in South Carolina. Dr. Holliday has extensive experience outside of higher education, including positions in higher education consulting, marketing, public relations and journalism.

Dr. Holliday received his BA in Mass Communication from Campbell University. She received her master’s degree in education specializing in enrollment management from Capella University and a Ph.D. in Education and Human Resource Studies/Higher Education Leadership from Colorado State University.

Born in South Carolina and raised in Lincolnton, North Carolina, Dr. Holliday was the first in her immediate family to attend college. She says this experience informed her commitment to increasing access to higher education. “I understand the challenges and concerns of first-generation students. Their struggles and determination to succeed inspire me. Something I do every day,” says Dr. Holliday. She is looking forward to moving to the area with her husband, Jason, and their son in December.
